The ocean front peninsula stretches for miles from the town of Marau and on to Barra Grande at the furthest point. Just 20 minutes away, the former fishing village of Barra Grande is now a small resort destination. The smaller villages of Saquaíra, Taipus de Fora (with one of the finest beaches in the area) and Algodões are nearby, close to the protected nature preserve and islands of Camamu Bay.
