Above Itapororoca Beach on a bluff with gorgeous views over the Atlantic, this beach house in Trancoso has that lived-in and loved feel. Just a couple of miles from the famous Quadrado, the house is nestled into a peaceful tropical setting just two minutes' walk to the beach.

The second home of a couple from the fashion industry, the house has been crafted in the traditional South Bahian style with a pitched roof and open-air design, banks of windows and lots of native woods. Recycled doors and floors come from an old Brazilian farmhouse with rustic and colorful patinas giving it a timeless, vintage feel.

The main living area, dining area and kitchen share the same floor and open out to a deck and the pool. The three en-suite bedrooms are spacious and bright and also open to the decks and ocean breezes. Two are at the living level, and one is downstairs at the garden level.

A colorful and charming collection of one-of-a-kind vintage items sourced from around the world pulls your attention throughout the property where you'll discover something fascinating in every corner.

AROUND

The charming and rustic town of Trancoso sits along the southern region of the Atlantic coast of Bahia along beautiful stretches of unspoiled shoreline. A former laid back hippy destination, the town is attracting a more jet set crowd of late but remains laid back. From the UNESCO designated Quadrado, to the cobble stone streets and candy-colored houses, this bluff side village hums along at a dreamy pace.

The nearby beaches of Praia do Espelho, Praia dos Nativos, Rio da Barra are to the north and Rio Verde, Itaquema and Ponta de Itapororoca are to the south. Further North is the historic town of Arraial D’Ajuda in the district of Porto Seguro belonging to the region known as Discovery Coast (Costa do Descobrimento), where Portuguese explorers arrived in 1500. A peaceful and unique seaside village, it’s located on a plateau overlooking the breathtaking coastline.
